Every post gets stamped before it goes out.

Postline is a shared content calendar for social teams and agencies. Draft a post, check it against each platform’s rules, get a manager’s approval, then schedule it, and see exactly what happened to it afterwards.

Sandbox channels. Postline checks and tracks every post, but nothing is posted to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook or YouTube yet.

How a post gets out the door

Six steps, in this order, every time. Nobody can schedule a post that hasn’t been approved, and nobody can approve a post that fails a platform check.

  1. Draft Any member

Write the caption, attach images or video from your team’s media library, and pick the channels it’s for. Each upload needs a tick confirming you own the file or have a licence to post it.

  2. Check Automatic

As you type, Postline counts characters, hashtags and attachments for every channel you picked, and lists anything a platform would refuse.

  3. Submit for review Any member

A post can only be submitted once every check passes. Add a note for the reviewer if there’s context they need.

  4. Approve or send back Admin

An admin approves the post, or sends it back with a comment. Sent-back posts return to the author to edit and resubmit. Each decision stays on the post’s comment thread.

  5. Schedule Any verified member

Put the approved post on the calendar, up to a year ahead. Move it to another time, or cancel it, until it goes out.

  6. Track delivery Automatic

At the scheduled time each channel gets its own delivery status. Today that means Sent to sandbox, or Failed with the reason. A failed delivery can be retried, up to 3 attempts per channel.

Checked against each platform’s rules

One post often goes to several channels with different limits. Postline checks the same draft against each of them, so a caption that fits LinkedIn doesn’t quietly break on X.

What Postline checks for each platform
PlatformCaptionHashtagsMediaAttachments
Instagram2,200 characters30 at mostAn image or video is requiredUp to 10 images or videos, mixed
TikTok2,200 charactersNo limit setA video is required1 video, no images
LinkedIn3,000 charactersNo limit setOptionalUp to 9 images, or 1 video
X280 charactersNo limit setOptionalUp to 4 images, or 1 video
Facebook63,206 charactersNo limit setOptionalUp to 10 images, or 1 video
YouTube5,000 characters60 at mostA video is required1 video, no images

Limits are taken from each platform’s public documentation and platforms change them without notice; we re-check every value before turning on live delivery. X counts some characters as two, so Postline’s X count is an approximation.

Members draft. Admins approve.

Two roles keep the calendar clean for in-house teams and agencies running several brands.

Members

Copywriters, designers, community managers

  • Write drafts and attach media from the shared library
  • See every platform check while they write
  • Submit posts for review and reply to comments
  • Schedule approved posts, and retry failed deliveries

Admins

Account leads, brand managers, the workspace owner

  • Everything members can do
  • Approve posts, or send them back with a comment
  • Disconnect channels the team no longer manages

Where Postline stands today

Postline is in private beta. Here is exactly what it does not do yet.

  1. It doesn’t post to your accounts

Postline does not post to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook or YouTube yet. Live delivery will only go through each platform’s official API, once that platform approves Postline’s app.

  2. Channels run in a sandbox

Until then, every channel is a clearly labelled sandbox channel. At the scheduled time, Postline validates the post and records the result. Nothing leaves Postline.

  3. No engagement analytics

You won’t see likes, views or reach. Postline shows its own delivery counts only, and will only show engagement it can read from an authorised platform API. It never estimates them.

Plans

Each plan sets how many posts you can schedule each month, how much media you can store, and how many channels you can connect at once.

  • Free

    30 scheduled posts a month

    • 500 MB of media storage
    • Up to 3 connected channels

Prices will be set at launch. Postline is free while it’s in beta.

Questions

Will it post to my accounts today?

No. Postline doesn’t post to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook or YouTube yet. Each platform has to approve Postline’s app for its official API first. Until then your channels are sandbox channels: you can plan, check, approve and schedule real posts, but nothing is sent to the platform.

What happens when a sandbox post reaches its time?

Postline runs the platform checks again and records the outcome for each channel: Sent to sandbox, or Failed with the reason. It’s a rehearsal of the whole workflow without anything going live.

What if a delivery fails?

The post is marked Failed and shows why. Any verified member can retry it, up to 3 attempts per channel. If a delivery was interrupted and the outcome is unknown, Postline says so, so you can check before trying again.

Can I change a post after it’s approved?

Once it’s scheduled you can move it to another time or cancel it. Approved posts can’t be edited: to change the caption or media, cancel it and start a new draft, which goes through review again. What goes out is always what was approved.

Does Postline show likes, views or reach?

Not yet. It only shows engagement that comes from an authorised platform API, and no platform is connected yet. It never estimates numbers.

When will live posting be available?

When each platform approves Postline’s app. We don’t have dates to promise. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when it changes.
